We wish to extend to all a late by happy and good New Year!

1. We have had an extremely busy year with requests from far and wide and have been able to help with most. Sales continue well for our books. However, our funding for operating costs that was paid for the past 10 years by BC Gaming has been finalized by the government that does not support the arts and culture in BC - nor does the federal government support us, especially small groups like ours. However, the Village continues to forgive our taxes which is extremely helpful.

2. Our big project this past year has been gathering support from local groups and the Village for the 2 storey addition to the Centennial Building,-- on the top floor there will be an Archives office, and storage on the bottom floor for all groups in the building, Museum, Library and Archives. We have been fortunate to receive many offers of in-kind help and as well have been fortunate in obtaining several grants - CBT board, CBT Initiatives, CKCA Cultural group, and start up money for plans from RDCK. Also the Halcyon Home Foundation gave us a large donation which we were surprised and thrilled to receive. We had enough funding to make a start so asked our local architect who had drawn the plans to ask Kevin Ryan of Kelowna - Blue Green Architects -- for a bid to do the finalized plans for us. We accepted his bid and he is at present working on them for us. We hope to do the site preparation when the snow is gone. Hopefully other grants that we are waiting to hear from will give us enough funding to finish the project. We are in the process of writing other grants as their start up dates come up this coming year.

3. We have produced a pamphlet for a Heritage Walk that shows the 18 heritage sites chosen last year. So far we have not had time to do more on this.

4. Production of DVDs from old videos is ongoing and is proving to be a difficult task. But some have been successful and shown at different occasions.

5. When the addition is completed, we will be needing people to volunteer in the office, we hope that you can help us out. In the process of getting ready for the new building, a Finding Aid book is being prepared to show where items can be found to help out anyone sitting in for us at times. We will be increasing our hours to include another day.

6. Barb MacPherson has started Family Tree work for us which is something that we have wanted to do for some time, especially obtaining more information of the older families so that this data is not lost.

7. Our AGM will be held on 20th April this year at the Seniors from 2-5 p.m. We encourage all to invite friends to see some of the new DVDs that have been made. Will ask Bruce Rohn if he could join us and bring some of his wonderful photos.

8. We hope that you will visit the office and see what we have and what we have accomplished. Also if you have any archive items or information that you would like to donate, we would appreciate receiving them.

9. We completed our first virtual museum project this year - to see it, if you have internet - google - From the Bow of the Minto and the site will come up. Another great project that we helped with can also be seen by entering - Balance of Power - Hydro Development of South Eastern British Columbia. Many of our photos and the written work was completed by our author/historian Milton Parent. It has a lot of information and photos of towns on the lake. I am sure you will be interested in viewing this project - check all the different sites that are given.

10. Some members and residents have been making donations to the addition and we do appreciate any help we can to finish the addition.

We do give out income tax receipts for over $20.

Hopefully, you will continue to support our society by keeping up your membership with us.
